Hi, I’m Kat, founder of Island Time.

Hospitality has been part of my life for many years. Before creating and running my own vacation rentals, I worked in the busy hotel environment of Whistler, starting at the front desk and later working as a concierge and duty manager, along with experience in sales and reservations. It gave me a real understanding of what guests are looking for, what makes a stay memorable, and just as importantly, everything that needs to happen behind the scenes to make it all work.

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to create and operate vacation rentals of my own, first from our remote property in Sayward and now here on Quadra Island. Along the way, I’ve been fortunate to maintain Airbnb Superhost status for several years and receive nearly 200 guest reviews, giving me a lot of firsthand insight into what guests notice, value and remember.

What I love most is that no two properties are the same. I genuinely enjoy seeing the potential in a space and figuring out how to bring it to life. That might mean helping with design and layout, researching the market, working through pricing and revenue potential, improving the guest experience, or finding a few thoughtful changes that can completely transform a property.

I love the transformation, but I also enjoy the work behind it: the planning, research, numbers and little details that turn a good idea into something that actually works.

That same hospitality background is also behind our Home Concierge and Home Watch services. I know how valuable it is to have someone you trust nearby when you can’t be there yourself. Whether it’s preparing your home before you arrive, coordinating cleaning or deliveries, checking on the property while you’re away, or meeting and overseeing trades when something needs to be done, the goal is to make owning an island home from a distance a little easier.
